These plates generally have the copy raised from the background by striking the plate with a mated male and female embossing die. The resulting plate is very durable and can give a strong visual impact. The price of the dies varies greatly depending on the type and thickness of the material, and the amount and detail of the copy. Printing one or more colors can visually enhance these parts.
